God will take care of him now he's in good hands like we were when we were in Dr. Barnes hands.

I remember Dr. Barnes being so wonderfully patient and supportive of us ( Billy and Nancy's friends), as we made the transition from unruly teenagers to adulthood. Dr. Barnes will be missed by so many. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

I worked as Dr. Barnes' nurse for many years at 1616 Grand. He was a fine physician & an exceptional diagnostician. His devotion to his patients set an example for our whole staff. He was a big part of my life for a long time & I will not forget him.

I was so sorry to hear that Dr Barnes passed. He was a great partner to my father and delivered me into the world. I enjoyed his sharp wit, he made me laugh every time I saw him. My wife, Leisa and I visited him with my parents when we were all in town several years ago, and she was immediately touched by his charm. We bumped into him and Mary the next day at the movies, and I remember thinking I hope this isn't the last time I see him. Appropriately, he and Mary walked into the theater...

When I was a child, I went to old Doc Barnes, where the county building is now. Then my family went to young Dr. Barnes and later to Dr. Andrews, finally to Dr. Holmberg. Except for being sick, I have fond memories of old Doc Barnes and the red suckers I got after each visit and the practice at 1616 Grand Ave. I'm sorry to hear of Dr. Barnes passing.

I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Barnes. I went to both he and his dad when I was a child and later in years, he delivered two of my children. My sympathy goes out to the Barnes family.
