To the Berge Family,
I will never forget his graduate class. I laughed, learned, and enjoyed his class. He told us that he taught Social and Intellectual History on Wednesday because the churches didn't want his students at services. He will be missed.

Marion and Family,

Our heartfelt condolences go out to you. Bill was so kind to our mother Sara Camp Fort over the years and she loved him dearly.
May you find peace and comfort in Bill's exemplary life.

He now belongs to the ages.

Hope all went well today and the stories of his escapades help.
Thinking of you and wish I was there.

Mrs Berge, Ted, Tom and family, we were so saddened to hear about the loss of Dr. Berge. We sure are better people because of him and all of you and so glad we spent good times with him and your family over the years. Our love, prayers and thoughts are with you at this time.

Ms. Berge, Ted and Tom,
I was saddened to learn of Dr. Berge's passing. He was my major professor both as an undergraduate and graduate student in the 1970's and I was his grad assistant when the Oral History Center was created. I will always cherish his advice and remember his sense of humor.

Cousin Bill was one of the most kind , generous and inspiring- true gentleman to come into our lives. He embodied the love of oral history and that was a true gift to myself, our children and our entire extended family.Bill made the connection for all of us to understand, he touched so many and will be sorely missed. My heart goes out to Marion and all of the kids, he really did show us how to live life to the fullest.
