Not sure what to say?

William had big, piercing eyes that never missed a beat. He will be missed; by many: for his humor and wit, for his knowledge, his movie and music recommendations, and most of all for his uniqueness . He made me feel like a real somebody when I felt small. I will carry the kindnesses he showed like pressed flowers in a memory book. I am so grateful to have learned what I learned from his friendship . William was a bright, brilliant flame and shed much light in his lifetime. I thank his spirit...

William could make me cry with laughter. He had an uncanny ability to do impersonations and go on long winding conversational paths that were always entertaining. He championed all things weird and obscure and ascribed a saintliness to all underdogs. I will cherish the memories I have of him. Much love to Sid and the rest of his family.

My deepest condolences to William's family, friends and colleagues. I knew William a long time ago, when WFMU was at Upsala College and my brother, David, and I would go to parties as fans. (David passed away unexpectedly in January 2016.) And then I ran into William years later when we both worked as freelance legal proofreaders on the midnight shift in NYC. He was a great guy. May he Rest In Peace.

A good man passed away. I can only offer my most sincere sympathies to all of those who loved and respected Bill.

My deepest sympathies go out to William's family. He was a dear friend and he will not be forgotten.

A fine man who lit my musical world on fire

I offer my condolences to William's family. His radio program taught me so much about music, for many decades. I found him to be a smart, funny soul with a big heart. So many people in the radio and music community are missing him right now. Rest in peace, William.

William shone brightly with the lights of creativity and intelligence. He inspired and encouraged so many in their artistic endeavors. I am forever indebted to have experienced his friendship.
My deepest condolences to his close family.

Wm. was a devoted father and a thoughtful member of the art and music community. He will be missed. May he be in peace now.
