I just learned of Woody's passing today, and I am deeply saddened. Woody was a technician who serviced our office for several years. After a few visits to our office, we discovered that we went to elementary school together, grew up just a stone's throw from each other, and knew many of the same people. We always laughed and talked about the Outer Banks, which is where we both vacationed with our families. Woody was without a doubt, one of the kindest and funniest people I ever met, and his professionalism and work ethic made him someone we appreciated and respected. Never did he look happier than when he spoke of his wife and his sons. He will be truly missed. Our condolences to his family.

Tammie, Ryan, Aaron, Jennifer and all others in the family. We are so shocked and very saddened by the loss of a wonderful father, husband, son, uncle, brother and friend that was Woody. He was forever smiling, always could make you laugh (or at least smile), and he loved you guys so much. Tammie, I just found out through my sister-in-law, who is taking her baby to VHBC day school this year and I was floored. I know we haven't been in touch for the last couple of years since our boys were not in any classes together, but please know that I'm still here for you guys in any way that I can help. By reading the Guest Book entries, I see you have a wonderful support system and that in it self is so special. The whole family will remain in my thoughts and prayers everyday. May God Bless!!! To all of us at the Container Store in Arlington, we welcomed (well, almost) our technology failures, since that would mean a visit from Woody.
A wonderful man in every way--and it seemed that every conversation turned back to his beloved family. We will miss him terribly, but we hope to take as an example his deep appreciation of the truly important things in life. Our thoughts are with you all.

I've known Woody all my life, our families in our neighborhood and church were close and to know he is no longer with us cuts deep...it is so hard to believe. I have to say that in every memory I have of Woody, he is smiling, and that is how I will always continue to remember him. My heart and my prayers are with all of his family.

Maxi and Bill - I remember the time you had asked Woody to cut the grass, you were out and when you got home, he had cut the word NO in the lawn - I believe that you told him to get out of bed and cut the grass in the dark.

I think it is safe to say that were it not for his encouargement I wouldn't have begun attending or remained faithful to Franconia Wesleyan Church (now UWC) where I received my call to the ministry! Thanks Woody! My heart goes out to each of the family and you are in our prayers!

Maxie and my Mom, Linda, have shared a lifelong friendship as cousins. Woody and I were second cousins and were born within the same year, Woody in January and me December. All of my memories of Woody and Crissy are happy ones. Our family always looked forward to visiting with Woody's family. Thanksgiving time, in particular, is permanently cast as a holiday measuring standard because of the joyful times our families spent together.
My mother tells a hilarious tale of Woody and me playing upstairs at our house in northern Virginia. Our parents were downstairs talking when they were interrupted by a horrible sound of destruction that seemed to roll across the roof and down the walls of the house. As they rushed to discover the source of the calamity, they found Woody and me in the window of a second floor dormer. We had just poured an entire coffee can of glass marbles down the roof and into the metal rain gutters outside the house.
We miss Woody, but what a blessing to know that he is with our Savior, healed both spiritually and physically. No more night! No more pain! Joy everlasting! Praise His name!

Woody and I served together on the Chiefs Advisory Council for the FCPD for many years. We always enjoyed talking about our various ride-along adventures and about life in general. He was one of my favorites in the group and I will miss him a lot. May he rest in peace.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-17
King James Version (KJV)
13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

11-5-2011 Bill, Maxie, Chrissie, Tammy and sons, it is so hard, I know, to presently lose the one so loved. Lost her on earth, except the memories - but not lost forever. We know so deeply how difficult this time is, too hard for workds. Even though some of us have not seen any of you for a long time, you all, and Woody are so much a part of our family, and we feel so much a part of yours, too. We love you all, will certainly keep you in or prayers with gratitude for your kindnesses, and love, too. We shall do what we can to help in this time of need. Some of us can do more than others, but prayer is not the least of these, either. - from Libby's sister
