Uncle Bill was truly "a man for all seasons." And not just those wonderful winter & summer sessions when he led The Gang on ski trips & beach vacations "down the Shore" at LBI. He built an extraordinary legacy as an entrepeneur and business pioneer, and he & Aunt Rie established a wonderful family environment as they braved the bold move to Kansas from their beloved home base in New York.
UB's greatest legacy was his example in dealing with people. From the smallest and youngest and to the oldest and most acomplished, he quietly and gracefully made sure that EVERY person he encountered knew that he was interested, that he was respectful, and that he truly cared.
I will always treasure our conversations, which ranged from Manhattan College "Jasper" war stories and sports anecdotes to semi-metaphysical business/legal discussions, and the twinkle in his eye & lilt in his never-lost Woodlawn accent when he would address me as "Counselah."
While we will continue to miss his presence among us here, I am glad that he was able to lead the way for his sister, our beloved Aunt Kathleen, as they have reunited with their family and friends in the fullness of God's grace in Heaven.

It is always sad to be informed of the passing of a Manhattan College Almnus. The sadness is increased when you realize that he also went to Cardinal Hayes High School, The Bronx. Although at different times, we walked the same halls of learning.
May William Patrick Biggins rest in peace.
Sincerely,
John Peter Rooney

The Manhattan College alumni community shares the grief, and is now praying for our fellow alumni and the family at this time. The Alumni Office has been informed. As well as the Jasper Jottings community that I personally can reach. We are all a little poorer now. "No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me". We are sorry for your loss.

I second my sister's sentiment. (Though I didn't have a toilet paper project like she did!)
Uncle Bill is one of those people who will forever bring a smile to my face. I absolutely looked forward to UB and Aunt Rie making the pilgrimage to LBI every year, and sitting on the beach or deck and just catching up.
The tradition of the cousins' ski trip made it possible for us to enjoy the time & laughter a 2nd time each year -- and it is one we are trying to get going again with the next generation... We'll do our best to tell the stories of how it all began with this gentleman and true gem of a man.
Uncle Bill, Aunt Rie and the "Kansas Cousins" at LBI. Forever handsome!

I have so many fond memories of our wonderful Uncle, my Godfather...ski trips, beach walks...he was always interested in what I was doing in my personal life, and in hearing about my career. I remember in college when Uncle Bill shared his paper product expertise and helped me get an A on a marketing class project on toilet paper!!! xoxo
