William Lester Blevins

William Blevins age 82, passed away October 23, 2017. He was born January 19, 1935 in  Kentucky to Cecil Blevins and Jessie Lee Tackett Blevins. William was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed Alabama Football and NASCAR, Tony Stewart car number 14 was his favorite driver. William was often found outdoors doing yard work and working on projects for his family. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved being their "Paw Paw Hoss". William's faith in Jesus Christ sustained him as he fought many health issues. He fought the good fight. He kept the faith. He finished the race. William was preceded in death by father, Cecil Blevins; mother, Jessie Lee Tackett Blevins; sister, Verna Dowdy.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Katherine Edwards Blevins of Chunchula, AL, daughters, Renee Curtis and husband Gary of Independence, KY, Deborah Stokes and husband Ken of Florala, Treasa McGee and Melissa Womach and husband Tracy both of Monroeville, AL, 9 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Graveside services for William Blevins will be 11AM Friday October 27, 2017 from North Creek Cemetery with his grandson Kenneth Stokes officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8PM Thursday at Evans Funeral Home.
