William (Bill) Henry Boettcher Jr. Born April 12, 1933 in Lindsborg, KS, to William Henry Boettcher and Hilma Louise Spongberg Boettcher, he went to his Lord on June 11, 2008. Bill graduated from Lindsborg High School in 1951. He attended Bethany College and Kansas State University where he received his bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1955. He received his law degree in 1958 from Washburn University in Topeka, KS. Bill, his wife, Mary Lou, and their two young children arrived in Mesa, AZ in the summer of 1962 where he lived the rest of his life. He practiced law as a sole practitioner and in his law firm, Boettcher, Crowder, and Schoolitz, mostly in Scottsdale and Phoenix. Bill was an active member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mesa. He also belonged to the Papago Rotary Club, Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable, Independent Order of Foresters, Jazz in AZ and Classic Jazz Society of Arizona. Bill had a lifetime love of his family, friends, beloved New York Yankees, Detroit Lions and all of the Phoenix area sports. He also loved all good jazz music. Bill was preceded by his parents and sister, Vivian Stroup. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Lou, and their children, Matt (Nancy) of Glendale and Sandra Lyons of Gilbert, and his six grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister-in-laws, and friends. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Bill's name to First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 142 North Date Street, Mesa, AZ 85201; or Jazz in AZ, Inc., P.O. Box 9651, Scottsdale, AZ 85252-9651; or Arizona Classic Jazz Society, 10918 E. Michigan Avenue, Sun Lakes, AZ 95248 A Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., June 20, 2008, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 142 N.
