Bill was a beloved friend whom I met on my first day as a Princeton student in 1941. We also saw Bill and Pat at many class of 1945 meetings including a sail on the Danube and Rhine just two years ago. He was a delight to be with. His sense of humor was droll but just so funny. We had different political associations, but that made no difference in our friendship. I will miss him so very much.
