Not sure what to say?

Bill looked after me like one of the family as a visiting graduate student in the summer of 1986. I heard him lecture many times. He was a true gentleman and a proud Irishman. I would hope his memory will be served with some provision of the opportunity I had to visit and study at Rochester for Irish dental students.

Dear Carole and the rest of the Bowen Family. I was so very sorry to hear of your loss. Although it's already been 17 years since we moved to Virginia, I still remember vividly the great fun we had while hunting together with GVH and riding in Mendon Ponds Park. Having lost my life partner, too, Carole, I know some of what you're going through. Take care...and remember the old cliches are true: Life is for the living, etc. I know your family will be of great comfort to you you. Gale...

My sincere condolences to Carole and family. Bill was a mentor and friend that I appreciated very much. I will miss our fun chats and emails analyzing the Irish soccer teams performances. I wish I could have made it to his funeral to pay my respects, but I was in Ireland at the time.

My sincere condolences. Bill was a gentleman with a good sense of humour and warm Irish personality. He was one of the giants in his field of scientific research and a rock solid member of the research community - he will be sadly missed and long remembered for his many contributions.

We are Orrie & Mary Capone's family in San Diego, Ca. We extend our deepest sympathy to all the family in this time of sorrow. Orrie & Mary dearly loved "Uncle Bill". God bless you all. You are in our prayers.

On behalf of the AADR, as its current President, I offer our condolences on the passing of a wonderful man, great scientist, and dedicated contributor to organized dentistry, dental education, and dental research.

Bill has been a tremendous contributor, and especially in recent years with respect to his serving as an "often called upon" reviewer for the Journal of Dental Research. We will miss him greatly.
