William Breit

Those of us who were lucky enough to know Bill very well will always remember the important role he played in our lives, both as our professor and, most importantly, our friend. He was a generous, witty, loyal, and brilliant man.
I am deeply saddened by his death, but am also grateful that he played such a prominent role in my life. I will never forget him.

A wonderful economist, Bill Breit combined elegance, wit, and a love of life that continues to inspire friends, colleagues, former students, and admirers. It is with deep sadness that Donna & I learned Of Bill's passing...Unfortunately we were unable to pay our respects as we are out of town but we have Bill in our thoughts and are thankful to have had the good fortune of counting Bill as a friend...we extend our sympathies to Bill's brother Alvin and sister-in-law Phylis...
