Not sure what to say?

I'll always treasure my time with Bill, and when I stop to enjoy the painting he gave me of pink flowers, I can still hear his stories. I just had my living room repainted, and that painting will have a special place on a wall.

Bill, "Pop," was my grandfather. Hearing what others have to say about the impact he had on their lives is astonishing. I knew he was special, and I knew others thought so, too, but I didn't really understand the depth of the impact he had on them until today.

When I visited the Princeton Seminary campus with him years ago, and multiple separate people shouted across the quad to say "Hey Dr. Brower!" I knew there was something special about him, but I didn't really get how special he...

It was with such sadness that I found out that Bill had passed away. In 1981 my husband Joe and I moved to Pennington NJ and Bill and Elaine were our next door neighbors. Bill and I enjoyed the poetry of Robert Frost, enjoyed going to estate sales to find paintings at low prices and nice dinner parties at both of our homes. Bill always had something kind and interesting to say. We moved away in 1985 to CA and we always missed our times together. It was a pleasant surprise when Bill called us...

One of the most gifted teachers, and someone who taught generations how to read and interpret, and ultimately, to love poetry.

Professor Brower brought
the written word to life!
He had a long life and great Professional impact.
Once you met him - one could
never forget him. He brought
so much enthusiasm to his
classes that it was always
great to see him!
Now he belongs to the ages!

Having been a student of Mr. Brower at Princeton Theological Seminary in the late l950s, and having been inspired by his teaching methods and personality, I decided in 1961 to follow in his footsteps, moved to NYC, and received my M.A. in Speech Arts at Teachers College, Columbia University in the Spring of 1962. I shall never forget what a perfect gentleman and superb actor/reader he was. Peace, Bill.

I so appreciated Bill's humor and passion about clear communicating with your whole person. What you said could be communicated clearly and with subtle nuances.

I give thanks to God for Bill Brower and his "long obedience in the same direction."

Sorry to hear about Bill's death. Reflecting back on my time at PTS (1974-77) there is no doubt in my mind that any success I have had in the pulpit and with local community theater has come as a direct result of Bill's tutelage, not to mention all the other members of the Speech Dept. at PTS during my time as a seminarian. Bill, Ginger Damon, and company had a huge impact on me and,I am certain, all those who had the privilege of taking their classes. Bill took many of us under his wing and...

I offer my condolences to Bill's family.
Bill will be long remembered by those who had the privilege sitting and performing in his speech classes. He was a true gentleman and master teacher.
