With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of William Sheldon Brunault Sr., lovingly known as "Willard" or "Bill," who left us far too soon on Monday, August 25, 2025. Bill passed away while doing what he loved most, riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycle, a passion that defined much of his adventurous, free-spirited life with his smiling blue eyes.
Bill was a highly skilled welder and could fix just about anything. He spent many years working professionally in the automotive industry. Creative as he was capable, Bill brought his own artistic style to everything he touched. He custom painted vehicles for himself and friends and his work was as original and expressive as he was. A man of many passions, Bill was just as at home in his garden as he was in the garage. With a true green thumb, he created lush, beautiful gardens. And somehow, even wild animals seemed to know he was someone they could trust, just another testament to the gentle soul he was.
Bill was a loving son to his mother, Pat, with whom he lived and cared for. He was a devoted father to his three children, Billy Jr., Carly, and Miranda, whose names he proudly wore as tattoos.
Known for his kind heart and infectious personality, Bill had a way of making everyone feel welcome. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, helped anyone in need, and always showed up when it mattered most.
Bill was predeceased by his brother, "Gabby", and his father, Gary Allen Brunault. He leaves behind his mother, Patricia Brunault, his children, Billy Brunault Jr., Carly Rae Brunault, Miranda Rose Stapley and a wide circle of lifelong friends who became family.
He lived life wide open, wild, fiercely loyal, and unapologetically himself. His spirit will ride on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at O'Brien Funeral Home in South Hadley, MA on Wednesday, September 3rd from 4pm-7pm. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. For more information, please visit obrienfamilyfh.com

Miss Pat, I am so sorry to hear about this happening. I loved Bill. He was so nice to me. He was the first person in his neighborhood to talk to me and Marcus and that was 18 years ago and he used to work on my car for me just to let my grandson run through the yard. I just want you to know my heart is with you And if you need anything, just let me know.

Sending strength, love and peace to Willard´s loved ones, especially Pat and his children through times of darkness and grief. I´ve known Willard my whole life as my backyard neighbor. From having the coolest motorcycles, to fighting off a huge raccoon that was getting at his chickens, an injured red tailed hawk who´s name was Red and visited him often as it fully recovered, daily golf cart rides with his beloved dog PiP by his side, the biggest "sticky" plants I´ve ever seen and beautiful...
