Not sure what to say?

I miss Bill. We used to meet in our shared backyard on the 4th fairway of St Andrews Golf Course. He would tell Air Force stories (if prompted) and I exaggerated Navy anecdotes. A few years ago Maureen and I paid our respects to Bill and Ollie at Arlington National Cemetery. I continue to wish you Fair Winds and Following Seas. Capt. Jon Cummings USN (Ret)

My condolences. General Bryan & my father, Hugh Owens from the same corner of Michigan, survived 3 wars in the sky together. The best men have passed. The best young men and women are yet to come.

I remember Bill very, he grew up on the east side of Flint. Bill was in the same class at Flint Central High as my brother. Class of 1939. Bill also attended Homedale Elementary. Bill's mother and my mother were good friends. Of our age group, Bill acheived the highest rank during WW2.

Sir,

I did not have the honor to have met you, but am proud to claim the same birth place. As a Marine Veteran of the Iraq War and father of a wounded Marine of the same war I am humbled by your service and sacrifice. Although I am sure you would cringe at being called a Hero (which you most certainly are) I'm quite confident you would accept the accolade of Warrior and Patriot. God bless your wife, God bless your family, and God bless you General.

Gale,
Randy and I were sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. Know that you are in our thoughts.

One of my brothers flew missions over Europe while (Gen.) Bryan did. Another flew missions in the South Pacific at the same time. The former was Major Allen P. Haning, the latter Colonel William F. Haning Jr. Both are gone now, but I couldn't pass up this opportunity to pay respects to one of the men who manned our defenses. I eventually became an Air Force pilot as well, and General--I salute you!! Chocks out !!

Gale, Julie, Joni and Bill. I was saddened by the news of your father's passing. However, it makes me happy to remember the stories about his life as told to me by Bill. He certainly had a long, full and very special life. It's now time for him to get the rest he deserves after serving his country for 33 years and his family for 60 years.

Bill, we are never prepared to face this, but we all know that we too will be at this crossroads some day. We are thankful for his dedicated service to our country. we owed him much more than he received. Our loss and heavens gain. We will be praying for you and your family through the incoming weeks. I hope you and your family will have a safe trip home.

Bill, I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like your Dad was a very special person. If there is anything Roger and I can do please let us know. You and your family are in our prayers.
