William Brooks Burnett

I was shocked to hear about Bill's untimely death. I was a high school classmate of Bill's, and will always remember his adventuresome spirit, his hippie days and his fantastic sense of humor. He will always have a special place in my heart.

My deepest condolences to his wife Caroline and his family.

The announcement of Bill's death in the Washington Post was a true shock. I send my thoughts to you, Caroline, and the family.

I was a friend and neighbor of Bill's in Alexandria many years ago. He was a bright and talented individual; I am glad that these last few years brought you so many opportunities for travel and good works.

I will remember Bill fondly. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Bill was a valued colleague and trusted advisor to so many of us over the years. He was an exceptionally talented economist, and his wise counsel and good humor will be greatly missed. My deepest condolences to Caroline and Bill's family.

I've known Bill since we were in high school together in Delmar, New York. We shared so much. Memories of University of NY at Buffalo; Madison, Wisconsin; love of the outdoors, shared musical interests, books, politics. I'm happy that he found so much joy in his life. My sympathies and best wishes go out to his family, specially Carolyn, Elaine, Mary Beth and Francine.

A great friend for many years and a fantastic helper to the lawyers with whom he worked.
