William "Red" Burns

Your dad was so special to our dad! They shared a lifetime of love and friendship. The 7 of us loved him like family as dad did. Pretty sure they are sharing a beer and chat in heaven about now!

There are two incredible moments I remember most between my father and Red. One very happy one very sad. Dad and Red lost touch with each other after the army. Our family took several trips to Indiana to play detective and try to locate him to no avail. We just walked around several towns and went into businesses and such asking if anyone knew him. (no internet at that time!) Then one day Red calls dad from about a mile away from where we were living in Louisville. He'd been searching...

My condolences to Reds family...What a good friend he was to my dad Joe Blandford....I can almost hear their laughter when I think of Red...

Oh my..so very sad. I met William a few years ago, he would come into the Auburn dollar tree store every week where I work and we would talk. It was always great to see him. I just can’t believe he is gone. Very nice man. Just saw him a week ago..he seemed good. I will miss our conversations at the DT. I’m glad that he is not alone anymore and is with his wife in Heaven.
