William A. Campbell

Has it been 12 years? I continue to think of Bill and Wilma; so many wonderful memories.

He is in our thoughts often and his legacy will live forever. I miss talking with him at Aunt Gingers house.

This is the only photo I have of him, I was told it was taken in Thailand in 1968 before Vietnam war Tets offensive

Campbell are great people when come from every walk of life. I am proud to be the granddaughter of the late Adolph J. Campbell

I never knew Col. Campbell but am very curious if he had an older brother perhaps, named Thomas M. Campbell, Jr. Also of Tuskegee. If so, the names and locations of any of his children

I had the great opportunity to have Col Campbell serve as the keynote speaker at the 51st Air Force Ball in Monterey Ca, sponsor by the 311th Training Squadron, and the Air Force Element at the Defense Language Institute, Presidio of Monterey Ca. His stories and words of wisdom shall always remain in the hearts and souls of all who atttended. Col Campbell was truly a man of great pride and distinction.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Bill's passing; he was a very gentle man and I am privileged to have known him. I first met Colonel Campbell when he retired from the Air Force and joined the faculty of the Naval Postgraduate School. I was a young mother with two small daughters; one of whom learned to play tennis from Bill when she was too small to see over the net! He was patient and loving and to this day, my daughter (who is now 43 years of age) remembers him as her first tennis...

He was a true genteleman and scholar.

Wilma and family,

I was sad to learn of Bill's passing. Bill was a friend and mentor to me when I was a young faculty member at NPS. He was a man of high character and a fine role model who only saw good in people.

I will always value his friendship. My condolences to the Campbell family.
