CAPE, William Sumner – Of Flint Township, age 68, died Monday, March 8, 2021 at his home, with loving family present.


Memorial service will be held at a later date.


Cremation has taken place.


In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society.


William was born in Flint, Michigan on March 19, 1952, the son of the late William and Virginia (LePard) Cape.


On March 20, 1982 he married Karen at Oak Park United Methodist Church in Flint.


He was a loving husband, best friend, business partner of Karen and loving step-father.


He was a great family member, friend and neighbor to so many people. He had a razor-sharp wit and outstanding sense of humor. His big personality, smile and fun-loving spirit will be greatly missed.


Surviving are wife, Karen; sons, Scott (Julie) and Brian (Mike Monzon) Irving; grandsons, Alexander Irving, Loren Zavelovich, Lucas Irving and Jonas William Irving-Monzon; sister, Suzanne (Michael); niece, Marta (Jeff) and nephew, Josh.

Karen - Sally and I were surprised and sorrowed to hear the news of Bill’s illness and passing. His character and outstanding wit were evident immediately upon meeting Bill for the first time.
We were so glad to have met you both. You and the family are in our thoughts and prayers.
