Not sure what to say?

I remember Mr. Carter from his time as a letter carrier down on Park Point. I was just a toddler at the time and loved Mr. Carter as though he were a member of our family. When he would be driving down the road my grandmother would tell me "Mr. Carter is coming!" and I would run out to greet him for my candy. My aunt told him she was jealous so he began trying to give her his lunch every day. That alone should say what a wonderful and caring man Mr. Carter was. I am 25 years old and he...

I worked with Bill in the Duluth PO for a number of years. I always thought of him as my friend. He was a great fellow and a lot of fun. You all have my sympathy over his passing. He will be greatly missed.

I dont really remember him all that much but I met him a few times from my friends when they would come up here to visit....but I do remember him as the "Candy Man," always had candy for everybody and he would always give us candy no matter what we were doing. He will be missed by many. God Bless you all.

I worked with Billy at the PO and we called him the Candy Man, too. He always had candy and smiles for us all.

I believe Mr. Carter was my mailman on Central Hillside years ago. He always had a piece of candy for the children. And, always a smile that I am sure will be greatly missed!!

Dear Butch and family, Our thoughts and Prayers go out to you at this time. Your dad always had a smile on his and such a gentleman. He will be missed, remember Jordan & Mikayla, you now have 2 angles looking out for you.Luv the Mirtica family

Oh, Billy! What can I say...He was a wonderful man and I really enjoyed seeing him on a regular basis when I worked at Black Bear. He ALWAYS had a kind word and of course, candy!!! He was so fun to be around. He loved to laugh and loved life, therefore making those around him happy. He was one cool cat. He'll be missed by many, but do not remember him sadly, remember him for how happy he made us all feel! God Bless.

Back in the early 80's, a bunch of us kids on 12th Ave. E. would follow him around while he delivered mail and he'd give us candy. I remember him being just the nicest man! Heaven gained a special guy.

My thoughts and Prayers go out to you Butch and your entire family as you mourn the loss of your father. I had the great honor and pleasure of being able to call Billy my friend while we both were working at Black Bear Casino. He was also known as " The Candy Man" he would come to work with a great big bag of candy and load his pockets and keep everyone happy handing out candy. We shared so many fun times and he will be greatly missed he is someone i will never forget. I am so thankful and...
