William P. Centeno was born on the 26th day of December 1920 to Dr. Eugenio Centeno and Ofelia Puentes Centeno. William passed away at the age of 94, after a lengthy illness on July 23, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Isabel Madrid Centeno; his children, Rosalinda Cavazos (David), William P. Centeno, Jr.(Patti), Dianne Centeno Garcia (Pete), 4 grandchildren, David Cavazos Jr., Diana D. Cavazos, William Centeno III and Sarah Centeno and 3 great grandchildren, Ryan Harris, Mason Centeno and Mina Cavazos. His only surviving sister, Margaret Mendoza (Pat). Mr. Centeno served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, partaking in the South Pacific Naval Operations assigned to the Naval Seabees. Upon entering into the civilian life; Mr. Centeno was associated with various businesses, eventually pursuing a career with the U.S. Government, Civil Service KAFB, Tx. He retired after 34 years of service. William was a very humble man who followed the teachings of Christ in his private and public life. He was very active in his church, volunteering his services to the Shriners Hospital for Children when needed and faithfully fulfilling his obligations and duty as a 33 degree Schriner. He will always be remembered as the Tutor of Life. His lessons will remain through the teaching of his adored children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He and his wife found solice in life being with his family. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Heart2Heart Hospice Team for their outstanding service and love they offered to Mr. Centeno. Special recognition to Genevive Marquez (CNA), Lorraine Sanchez (RN), and Beth Horton (RN).In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations to be made on behalf of William P. Centeno to: St Mark's United Methodist Church.

10:00 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
