Not sure what to say?

On August 18, 2012 the music at Las Canarias died. "El Curro", Willie Champion, had gone to his eternal reward. That great old dinning room was never the same to me after that - it had lost it's heart. No more flamenco shows, no sitting at the bar and listening to Willie play, no more going out with the family after shows. His guitar is silent, the chair where he sat and played is empty. Eight years - has it been that long? But Willie still lives in our memories - and in our hearts.

Remembering Curro, on the anniversary of his passing. We still remember you. And now, since 10-25-17, my husband and your friend Freddy Salas, has joined the Band of Angels. May you both be resting in peace, in the house of the Lord. Till we meet again.

Me in the 70's

To all friends and family, so sorry for your loss...I was floored when I saw this on the news. I was a friend of Willie Jr as a kid in the 70's and was so impressed by the sheer talent the Champion family had. I moved away in 79 and just returned to Texas 2 years ago. I know y'all probably don't remember me but I have great memories of your family. My Prayers are with you, God Bless...
My email is [email protected] if anyone can shed some light on Willie Jr passing...

Teresa, Rosalinda, Elsa & Families,
