Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to read of Jims passing. We spent many hours playing tennis at Olde Providence and Cedar Forest. Also on canoe trips with Jim and Harry to the French broad and other rivers within driving range of Charlotte. Cathinka, my heart goes out to you in your loss of such a fine person. My prayers are with you.

I am so sorry about Mr. Chandler's death
and I know he's in heaven now, and doing his part as a faithful warrior that he was, I didn't get a chance to speak with him during his illness, and I love you all at the law firm and the family, may heaven shine upon you, and stay encouraged. Ramona Mason & Family.

I just learned of Jim's passing. I met Jim in 1995. I paddled with him and also spent sometime with him in his beloved WVA home. Jim was indeed a rare jewel. A great man with a fantastic sense of humor and a true lover of life. Not many like Jim. Our deepest sympthy to the family.

Very sad to learn about Jim's passing. I happened to meet him on a whitewater canoe trip on the French Broad River in 1985, it was my first trip on the French Broad and he guided me through Frank Bell's rapid. We learned we were both lawyers and met up for other whitewater runs. I remember his dry wit; I still laugh at something he said about an encounter with some locals in Barnard, NC.

Cathinka, I am so sorry for your loss. You are in my prayers.

We are so sad to hear of Jim's passing. Everyone who's life he touched will remember him forever. Our sincere condolences to the family. He was a brother at the Bar and a fine lawyer, and a son of the game of golf. It has been years since we played golf, but when he would see me at the Courthouse or at a Bar function, he would greet me as "shortknocker"(meaning that I out drove him). We miss you Jim. Bill and Reg Hamel

Our hearts are so very heavy with the passing of Jim! A hole that will remain for us. What an amazing man who LOVED life, every aspect of it as well as LOVED his wife and girls! We had the pleasure of working, traveling, socializing with Jim and Cathinka and made memories we will have for life. We have never met any other person like Jim and the void of his presence will be huge! What a giving loving enthusiastic honorable man. Cathinka please know we are here for you and know his deep love...
