I felt a special kinship with Bill. He was a lovely person and will be greatly missed in the Ballard Landmark Community. I am very saddened by his passing and send my heartfelt condolences to Alicia and the rest of his family.

Bill loved St. Patrick's Day. For many years, Bill would show up early at Murphy's Pub in Wallingford helping move furniture and any other chore needed before we opened. His pay was to get a table for himself and his friends in a prominent location where he spent most of the day regaling and celebrating his Irish heritage. He became a fixture and we expected to see his bright expression and happy attitude every year...He'll be missed.

I am so saddened to hear of Bill's passing, I always enjoyed the Main family gatherings when we were all together. You are all in my thoughts.

I am saddened to hear of Bill's passing. Bill and Alicia were a constant and quiet presence in my mom's daily life at the Ballard Landmark. They always had a kind word or smile for others. Bill certainly had those Irish eyes that smiled. And Alicia and Bill were among the very first to send me a sympathy card when my mom died.

Alicia shared this with me in her sympathy card. The quote was from one of their Irish great grandmother's gravestone.

Bless Bill, I knew him well I suppose, he was a good man, thought of him kinda like an Uncle. Can't comment much on his skiing ability though since I did not never ski with him because I am a cross county skier. I (& my family), did however, enjoy the privilege & honor of being a guest many memorable times at his cabin near Skykomish. I always felt welcome by him and appreciated his penchant for life.
Rest ye Bill & rest ye well, as you shall need to be prepared for all that skiing...

That photo really captures Bill as I remember him. He lived a generous and joyful life, cared about family and friends, and could be counted on.

It's been a long time since last I saw him, but doubt he ever deviated from that basic personality.

I am saddened to hear about the passing of Mr. Chandler. He was my 5th grade teacher at Oak Lake Elementary for the 63/64 school year. He was such a dynamic personality to all of us. He was an amateur magician on carnival nights and PTA meetings. He loved to play softball with the students and got the classroom involved in a tropical fish tank that we had. Mr. Chandler is one of a very few teachers that I felt really cared about his students and their wellbeing. Godspeed Mr. Chandler!!
