Not sure what to say?

As Head of School at The Jack M. Barrack Hebrew Academy(Akiba), it was very sad to hear of Bill's death. Bill and Joanne were great friends of Akiba. Bill and Joanne's kids went to Akiba with my sister-in-law Lisa Levin '74, they were mentors of mine and my husband's at Camp Ramah and Joanne was a valued member of my Board when I was President of Federation's Women's Division. With Bill's death, the Greater Philadelphia Jewish Community, along with our community in Israel, has lost the...

My deepest condolences to the entire Chertok family on the passing of your father and grandfather. Bill was an outstanding leader in the former EPA and Midlantic Regions of the United Synagogue who seldom missed a Board meeting and who was a mentor to all of us in leadership positions. His boundless enthusiasm for Conserative Judaism was legendary and will be sorely missed. May his memory always be a blessing.

Very Good Man Mr. Chetok

The late Mr. Chertok had been big in Coatesville, Penna. for many yrs. and he shall be deeply missed. May he R.I.P.

I was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was the consumate leader in the Jewish community and I had the pleasure of working with him and Joanne while I served as Director of Suburban Regions for Jewish Federation. My deepest condolences.

It is with great sadness that I heard today about the loss of your dad. He was an extraordinary individual , always looking after those he loved, and when I think...

about 30 years ago... Frances Rosenblum and Alan Gold, married

Bill and Joanne were wonderful friends from the first moment we moved to Coatesville 54 years ago. I was amazed at the energy he had in pursuing charitable ends. Even at the last Jewish Federation phonathon, he was there with his walker, making calls all morning and afternoon. He was the model citizen, father, husband, and friend to all.

Mr Chertok always had an idea to improve Coatesville....maybe we didn't always agree with him but you had to admire him and we did. Our sympathy to the Chertok family.
