Bill welcomed me into the UCC and was a helpful and gentle presence to me over the course of my candidacy for ordination. I am so sorry for your loss and wish I could have attended the funeral on the 24th. Pastor Chidester was an inspirational person for me and my family. He was one of the kindest and least judgemental human beings I have ever met. He married my husband and I in August 2008, and his guidance & encouragement were very much appreciated. We will miss him very much, but we will cherish the memories.

Bill was a fraternity brother of mine and my roommate junior year at Miami in a room aptly named the " Bible Class ". We pledged together in Sigma Phi Epsilon and our college years were a great time for both of us. Sharon, I can remember when he met you at Miami- you were the greatest thing that could have happened to him. My heart and prayers are with you and your family. We will always remember him as a kind and gentle soul who welcomed us into the SUCC with love. Our many prayers and thoughts are with the family.

Several years ago after suffering a traumatic incident in my own life, I had the privilege of serving with Bill when he headed a weeklong "Confirmation" Camp at Pilgrim Hills. The experience helped strengthen my faith. I will always be grateful that I had the opportunity to share that time with Bill.
May you find comfort in the knowledge of all those whose lives he touched.
