Bill Clark was and exceptional man as well as an excellent police officer and commander. I worked with him many times during our careers and considered him a good friend. He will be missed.

His death is still ringing inside me.
Bill was my partner on my last day as an Oakland cop, May 17, 1973. We ate lunch at our desks because the grey sky was unsettling (I really didn't want to go out and have a fender-bender then face the paperwork).
But duty (and Bill) called me. Injuries I receive that day I know were a gift from God. They have drastically reframed and restructured my life, and my lasting struggles have led to a great awakening in my family and a refocusing...
