William E. Cloud of Elmhurst IL died at home on December 28, 2019. Bill's family was the center of his life. Not sure what to say?

Mr. Cloud was my English teacher at York (Class of 1984).
To this day I still talk about him as everyday in class he would teach us to spell by breaking down the word pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis and antidisestablishmentarianism. We had to spell those words out everyday. He was quite the influence on me, even 36 years later.
My condolences to the Cloud family. I hope it's comforting to know his influence lives on.

Eternal Friendship Remembrance Bouquet - VASE INCLUDED

William Cloud was like a Gardener
who planted:
Imagination, through poetry and patience so his students could realize their dreams and begin their lives with hope
Understanding, from a devoted teacher inspiring his students to reach the promise of their potential
Mercy, to forgive, compassion to heal and dignity to nourish the human spirit
Gifts of wisdom and judgment, that only flows from a gifted teacher
Affection, given with grace and goodness
Memories,...

Bill was a fellow teacher and a class act. I still recall a poem - Ride a Wild Horse - that he asked many students to commit to memory. It ends

before you die
whatever else
you leave undone
once
ride a wild horse
into the sun

I think he made good on that. Sorry to say goodbye to this great guy.

One of the nicest men I have ever met. God bless him and his family,

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember him as loving to take care of the yard in Harbert.

So sorry for your loss.

Dear Madge, I'm so sorry about the passing of your beloved, Bill. I remember what a fine man he was, and what a beautiful love story you and he shared and imparted. I wish you and your dear family my most heartfelt condolences. Nanci Wazienski, Ann Arbor, MI
