I was just asked today if I remembered my fifth grade teacher! Yes, I do. Mr. Roper influenced many of my decisions when I started teaching. For example, putting desks in the shape of states we were studying. And who can forget Andrew Jackson? RIP, Mr. Roper.

Bill was my boss and mentor. "Dr. Cobb" was a man of strength and integrity; a professional who cares about all children and had high expectations for staff. I will always be thankful to Bill for giving me leadership opportunities and providing me with his guidance and support throughout my career.

I was in Miss May's 6th grade class when Mr. Cobb became our student teacher. I still have the slide on which I drew a scene from Austrailia. He made quite an impression on me. I thought of him often as I started teaching.

His family is in my thoughts.

I worked with Bill in the Ridgewood schools for 15 years. My first encounter with Bill was as fellow teachers in Washington Junior High School. Miss Lulu Eisenhower was our principal and we were her boys. Again our paths crossed in administration: Bill was principal of Washington and I was principal of Benjamin Franklin.
