Mr. William LeRoy (Skip) Coburn, Sr., age 70, of Blountstown, Fl., passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010, at his home.
Mr. Coburn was born November 10, 1939, in Dow City, Iowa, and had lived in Blountstown since 2007, coming from Council Bluffs. Skip served in the United States Navy and retired with 23 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict. He was an airplane mechanic aboard the Carriers USS Kitty Hawk, USS Saratoga, and the USS Enterprise.
Mr. Coburn was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and LaBelle Coburn; and a brother, Larry Coburn.
Survivors include former wife, Geraldine Coburn Kelly, of Clarksville, Fla.; two sons, William LeRoy (Sonny) Coburn, Jr., and his wife, Joi, of Clarksville, and Robert Dean (Bobby) Coburn, and his wife, Sandy, of Blountstown; two daughters, Lori Parrish, of Blountstown, Sheila Smith, and her husband, Dwayne, of Clarksville; brother, Floyd, of California; sister, Mary Brown, of Council Bluffs; 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 5 p.m., at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Morris officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown.
