Bill, sorry to hear your dad passed on. Bill and Prue were there for me at a time I really needed it, and changed my way of thinking about my neighbors and the wider world as well. They treated me like family, and taught me a lot about how we should treat each other on our short spin around this planet. May he rest in Peace.

Glad I had chance to visit with Bill again one more time last summer. I spent a lot of my formative years with the Collins family back in Michigan. Many of the songs he taught us come to mind from time to time. We had a lot of fun together. A very funny and interesting guy.

Bill (and Diane), my condolences. So glad I was able to hang out some with your dad (along with my dad) at Terwilliger. Clearly you got much of your passion for justice and craftsmanship from this guy.
love and solidarity,

I really enjoyed visiting with Bill over the years, not only through my connection with son Bill K. and family, but also as an active member of the Humanists of Greater Portland. Great guy!

I miss those times talking about and seeing gardens, and sharing the good food we grew. I've got you in my prayers, Margaret.

Bill, David, Lauradel and family,
I'm sorry you have lost your father and guide. The obituary was deeply moving and captured Bill's essence in the telling of his life's tale. It was an intelligent telling, unabashedly on the side of fairness and represented all that is good about working class culture and thinking - like Bill.
Bill would have enjoyed giving it a good read and perhaps chuckled just a bit.
Your lives did him proud. He did you proud. ...
