Not sure what to say?

Bill was a great colleague and friend. I always thought he was the greatest mind at the school.

I made sure to take at least one Dr. Collins class each semester. He was my favorite professor, and shared so much wisdom.

I was a student of Dr. Collins during my freshman year at Samford (Fall 2014). He challenged me to think critically and had a way of delivering the material in an engaging manner. Was one of my favorite Professors during my time at Samford. He will be missed.

I was a student in Dr. Collins´ Cultural Perspectives class (part of Stamford´s core curriculum for freshmen) more than 20 years ago. He was an excellent professor and of course brilliant. Despite the fact that we were just a bunch of kids, he taught us at a high level and had high expectations. In particular, he taught us how to see the connections between significant texts and historical events. It was very difficult, and so much fun. He will be greatly missed.

Goodbye to a venerable political scientist, Cold War Warrior, lover of cats and beer, wanna-be monk and general all-around good guy. I am grateful to you and will miss you Sorry that I learned of the service after the fact.

Bill was a truly engaging intellectual, with whom it was always possible to have wonderful conversations. We had several lunches together, dinners together, and made a trip together to Eutah, Alabama to look at his antebellum house. I am out of town for the summer and regret I cannot attend the memorial service. I deeply regret Bill's passing.

Dr. Collins changed the way I see the world. I was a student in his Introduction to political science course in 2012. I was grateful to know him.
