My heartfelt condolences to his family & all who had the privilege of knowing & working with him through his many endeavors. His passion for his work & his legacy will be seen & felt by all who visit the Bronx Zoo.

Bill Conway was a great man. When I worked as a keeper In the Bird Dept. of the Bronx Zoo from 1978 to 1988, I looked forward to Mr. Conway stopping by the World of Birds frequently as he was an Ornithologist and loved birds as I did also.

He has been missed from the moment he left the society and now even more so. It most certainly is a sad time for those who knew and those who barely knew of Mr. Conway. I recall a story told to me by a zoo keeper years ago. She attended a conservation conference in the states, when she responded "the Bronx Zoo" to the question of place of employment, the words that followed showed me how Mr. Conway was held in such high regard by his colleagues from all parts of the world, the Japanese...
