To the Courtney family, Elaine and I offer our condolences. I knew Bill in Montgomery through our respective professions. When I relocated to north Alabama, Bill and I would meet for breakfast, I realize now too infrequently, to catch up. He had a very interesting background, to say the least, and I would try to vicariously hear of it with subtle questions.
