I miss Bill very much. I knew him all the years I worked in publishing, forty plus, and worked with Bill and William H. Sadlier for my last twenty plus.

He was always so upbeat and energetic. I am sure he is heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I pray for his family who miss him so greatly!

I DEVELOPED THE RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM AT ST. PIUS X, REYNOLDSBURG, OH, USING THE WONDERFUL TEXTS AND TEACHERS GUIDES FROM WILLIAM H. SADLIER FOR THE NEXT 30 YEARS. DURING THIS TIME, I MET BILL DINGER, WE CORRESPONDED ABOUT WHAT WAS CHANGING IN THE COLUMBUS DIOCESE; AND WHAT I FELT SHOULD BE CONSIDERED
BY THE WRITERS. BILL WROTE ME WHEN MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY IN 1986. I MET MOST OF THE REPRESENTATIVES AND SHARED MANY SADLIER DINNERS AT CONVENTIONS. THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM WAS AT CLEVELAND FALL CONVENTION, HE WAS ENJOYING OLD FRIENDS SO MUCH AND OF COURSE, WE LOVED SHARING STORIES AND LAUGHTER WITH HIM. WHEN I RETIRED FLOWERS AND CORSAGE CAME FROM BILL AND ALL WHO KNEW ME. BILL WAS A REAL TREASURE TO ME AND I AM SO HEART BROKEN THAT MY DEAR FRIEND HAS PASSED BUT KNOW HE IS WITH HIS LOVELY PARENTS THAT I ALSO KNEW, IN HEAVEN. A LOVELY MAN TO KNOW AND A GREAT BUSINESS MAN TO SHARE MY LOVE OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION. THANKS TO THE FAMILY FOR SHARING HIM WITH US AND GIVING HELP TO TEACHERS AND DIRECTORS. LONG LIVE THIS MAN'S WORK TO SPREAD THE WORD OF GOD. MY LOVE AND SYMPATHY TO ALL OF YOU.

Whether I was in the Office of Catholic Schools in Arlington or at the USCCB, I could always count on Bill Dinger to bring his talent and enthusiasm and the support of Sadlier Inc to an incredible number of initiatives. He and his family have truly been a gift to Catholic education. May the Lord welcome this good and faithful servant to his heavenly reward and may his family be at peace.

I first met Bill 59 years ago at Notre Dame and can remember so many things from laundry bag fights to wrestling. He was most always in good humor, determined and fun. Touching base with him at class reunions always found him a guy very proud of his company while not being overbearing or prideful. Underselling was a virtue in our relationship. We communicated recently via email. He was always upbeat and confidant in his recovery. His faith was always important. He will certainly be missed, Sadly, the world lost a great man.

"Has Bill seen this?" was our mantra when working at Sadlier. He saw and signed every page, and oversaw every facet of every text--content and design. May Jesus watch over him just as carefully, and more so, and bring him to fullness of life!

Bill was very instrumental and generous in his successful efforts to publish the teachings of Pope Francis on the family with a collection of speeches and sermons that the Pope delivered while still Archbishop of Buenos Aires. Bill's dedication was rewarded when he and Maureen were invited to present a copy of the work to the Holy Father personally at St. Peter's. Exegit monumentum aere perennius.
