Not sure what to say?

To Betty and entire family, I just learned of Bills passing and want to express my deepest condolences to all of you. Having had your family as up the street neighbors for years was a real pleasure. Bill always had a kind word and a ready smile. So sorry for your loss and treasure your memories.

He is in your future in heaven with Christ

Bill was an extraordinary shipmate and faithful participant in the Reserve Officers Association (now doing business as the Reserve Organization of America) Always contributing to the Coast Guard Affairs Committee and providing sage counsel on legislative proposals, he was upbeat and on target in deliberations.
Bill's presence and contributions will be missed.

I had the honour to meet Chief Doty several times. I was always impressed by his personable, warm personality, quiet, calm confidence, and complete competence and solid leadership. He was one of the examples I used as I built my own career in Fire and EMS, in Pennsylvania and Texas. His example will always shine for how to serve, how to work, and how to be a spiritual, honourable man.

Dear Betty and family,
It was my pleasure of knowing bill, I'm so sorry for your loss, bill was a kind hearted man, he will surely be missed by many.

I will miss Bill's smile, and watching war programs on TV with him
