A warm man of great wit and a keen analytical mind. I enjoyed a few ddrinks with him at his pub. A wonderful brother in law.

Bill was a man with an endearing sense of humor and outstanding career as a lawyer, which is how he initially identified himself when meeting new people. He was also a complicated man, never completely coming to terms with the death of his son, Willie. Nevertheless, amidst this tragedy we had some wonderful adventures during our almost quarter-of-a-century marriage. What a fine man and lovely tribute to a life and career well lived. We knew Bill and Leslie from St Barth's. We would see each other every year the same weeks and enjoy the sea,sand,and surf. He always had a smile on his face and was enjoying life with Leslie. May he rest in peace and know that he will be missed by everyone he knew. Even though my career actually practicing law was brief, I will never forget Bill's enthusiastic encouragement, support and mentorship. At a time when it was not always the norm, he respected women lawyers and trained many of us to be outstanding ones. Bill was that favorite uncle beloved by all. His colleagues' comments about him, quoted in the obit, capture exactly why he was so great, and why Wiggin and Dana was and is a great firm to work for. Rest in peace Bill.
