Dear Eula and Family, I want you to know what a special man Willie was to everyone that knew him. Willie and I often talked about Valdosta, Ga. where I grew up. He will be greatly missed. My heart is with you and the world lost one of the truly Southern Gentlemen I've ever known.

My grandfather was a hard working and caring man. I loved him dearly and will never forget him. I have so many fond memories to treasure. To my mom his only daughter (Betty Ann Hill) keep your head up and know that your father knows you love him!
I LOVE YOU GRANDFATHER!!!!

To my aunt Eula and family: I have very good and fond memories of Mr. Dykes. He was always, always especially nice to my mother and all of my sisters and brothers. His kindness was his legacy. To all my relatives, continue to look to God for the strength that you will need. Aunt Eula, God just rewarded your crown with another jewel for being a committed wife - stay strong, we love you and thank God for having known Mr. Dykes. He will be missed.
