William E. “Beansie” Malitsch, 92, of Coplay, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 22, 2021, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of the late Phyllis P. (Pudleiner), who passed on Oct. 10, 2021. Born November 28, 1928, in Allentown, he was a son of the late John Malitsch and Stephanie (Petrasovits) Malitsch-Keller. William worked as plumber at George P. Hudock Plumbing for several years and then continued his career at H.T. Lyons, Inc. He was a member of Plumber's Union Local 690. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. William was an active member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, where he opened envelopes for 40 years. He also attended Men's Malvern Retreat yearly for 40 years. William was an avid bowler, golfer, and Notre Dame fan.


Survivors: son, William M. and his life partner, Marsha E. Cullen; daughter, Mary Alice Matzo and her husband, Geno; grandchildren, Ryan, Holly, Allison, Danielle, and Mallory; great-grandchildren, Corrine, Summer, and Fionna; and brother, Joseph Keller. William was predeceased by his brother, John L. Malitsch, and sisters, Helen and Elsie.


Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 29th at 10:30 a.m. in the church, 4 S. 5th St., Coplay. Family and friends may gather Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery, N. Catasauqua.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be presented to the church in loving memory of William. Online condolences may be offered below.

Our deepest sympathy to Mary, Bill and family.. We only knew Bill a couple of months, he dined every day with my husband Herb at Country Meadows and he was a blessing for Herb. We sadly miss him n also sad that we don’t get to see Summer n Fiona, they were a big pleasure for every one there.
