You spent 87 long years on this earth. I only wish I would have spent more of them with you. When I join you on the other side, we will make up for lost time. Rest well young fella, until we meet again. I love you.

I grew up in the neighborhood a few blocks from Mr. Edgington’s home. In my younger teenage days, I sometimes would sit in their front porch swing and Mr. Edgington would chat with me while I visited with his children. The Edgington’s porch swing was as if it was a welcome mat and the visitors felt at home.

I have fond memories of Mr. Edgington giving my old 53 Chevy a jump-start in the Kmart parking lot. But, that was many years ago, but a kind gesture is never forgotten.
