Stanley, the death of your father has brought back so many memories. This is my second entry, the first was to your mother. Her parents and my parents were very good friends. Your father lived next door to my cousin and her family, the Holbrooks. Your uncle Robert and my sister, Pam, dated in high school and remained good friends. Your father worked at the country club in Opelousas as a life guard and he taught me how to dive. Your parents lived about 3 or 4 doors down from your grandparents...

I would like to tell Patsy how sorry I was to hear about "Downy". My cousin Sandy Holbrook called and gave me the news. In case you don't remember me I am "Sister Babe" Kate and Phil Heneghans daughter. I tried to reach you several years ago but couldn't get in touch. Please give my best to Beverly, Mary Beth, and Tracy. Again I am so sorry.

Bill Elder, what a person! He touched so many lives & so many hearts, and although most of us only knew him through the TV, it was as though he was a personal friend or part of our families. We send our deepest condloences & prayers to his family & our great community for this loss. He will be sadly missed, and we are truly grateful for the time we were able to spend with him.

I am a native of New Orleans who moved to TX in 99. For years my family would enjoy watching Bill Elder on the news. We were very sorry to hear of his cancer. He was always in our prayers. As I kept in touch with friends and family, I would always inquire about Mr. Elder. It was a very sad day when a friend called to tell me of his death. Just know our thoughts & prayers are still with him and his family in their time of grief.
