I was born at AGH 12/19/1961 - Doc Evans told my parents I was the most beautiful baby. He took care of me until I was 28 and he retired. I'm now 50 and have missed him a long time.

Dr. Evans was an amazing man and a very caring physician... how many people these days can say their doctor served as physician to their grandparents, parents and to themselves, in my own case from delivery to young adulthood. He was so kind, but also real, down to earth and at times blunt... If he thought you needed to be set straight, he set you straight in short order. That was what was so wonderful about Dr. Evans, because he cared enough to be frank and served a role so much deeper than...

Dr. Evans cared for our family for 3 generations. He was a wonderful person and a very caring person. I will never forget July 18, 1983 when he had to tell me that our 3 year old son Allen had cancer. He sat right there crying with me. He made the arrangements to have us admitted to Shands Hospital that same day so that Allen could start chemotherapy immediately. Allen survived cancer twice, but suffered from other complications for many years before he passed at the age of 30 on March...

Dr. Evans was my family doctor growing up until the time I left for college in 1971.
A few select memories;
The huge moosehead hanging in the waiting room of his office;
The great variety of reading materials for kids of all ages.
Hearing Dr. Evans hollering a question or directions down the hall to wherever Nurse Hazel happened to be at the time. Clearly Dr. Evans knew how to keep the workday normal and informal for his staff and patients.

Dr Evans was my family doctor. I loved going to see him. My whole family saw him until he retired. I started seeing Dr Evans when I was a very young child. You will be missed.
