William Kelly Eversole, 80, of Elyria Township, Elyria passed on Saturday, June 30, 2018 with his beloved wife, Rosemarie at his side, at home under the care of the Hospice of the Western Reserve. He had been ill for over 2 years.
He was born August 15, 1937 in Austinville, Virginia to Walton and Wilma (née Davidson) Eversole. William joined the Air Force at the age of 18 and spent 2 years in Japan.
While in Virginia, he was the owner of Smitty's Grill, Wytheville, Virginia and worked as a guard at Bland Correctional Facility, Wytheville. Bill retired from Preston Trucking, Cleveland after 30 years of service, earning awards for 1 million, 3 million and 5 million miles of safe driving. He continued to drive part-time for Formatech in Brunswick and Steve's Transportation in Avon. He also owned and operated North Coast Executive Limousine in Elyria.
Bill founded North Coast Sailing Singles, He was a member of Edgewater Yacht Club, Cleveland and competed in many regattas. He was a racquetball player and coach, and he was an avid motorcyclist since the age of 16 and performed with a traveling Goldwing Drill Team. Bill enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife and had taught ballroom dancing on cruise ships.
He is survived by the love of his life, Rosemarie; his stepchildren, Michael Hunkley, Sr. (Tammy) and Amy Marie Hunkley; three grandchildren, Timothy Hunkley, Katelyn Mae Stottlemire, and Michael Hunkley, Jr., as well as 4 other grandchildren, his children, Kevin Coleman, Kelly Coleman Lonsway, and Alissa Rae Eversole; siblings, David (June) Lee Eversole, Wanda Eversole Mabry, and Lorraine Eversole
Brown; and many nieces and nephews. Bill also leaves behind his wonderful companion dog, Benny, adopted from Friendship APL prior to his diagnosis, who provided much comfort to him while he was ill.
Other than his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his grandparents, William B. Davidson, Albert and Myrtle Eversole; his special "granny," Susan Marie Catron; and nephew, Steve Mabry.
Visitation will be Friday, July 6 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Richard Reidy Funeral Home, 1783 East 31st Street, South Lorain, with services performed at noon by Father Paul Monkowski of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Orthodox Church, Lorain with burial following at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Military honors will be conducted by the AMVETS Post 32, Elyria.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset burial expenses.

Our mom's were sisters and the 12 of their offspring had a wonderful playing together. You went your own way after high school having many adventures. Great seeing you at our last reunion. So sorry your family has to go through this difficult time. May you rest in God's Mercy.
