WEBSTER, NH – William R. "Bill" Fifield, 82, of White Plains Road died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2014 after a period of failing health. He was born in East Sutton, NH, the son of Clifton D. Fifield and Victoria (Shiltson) Fifield Philbrick.

Bill served in the US Army during the Korean War. For many years he had lived in East Sutton before moving to Webster in 1980. Bill served as the Road Agent for the Town of Sutton for 6 years and operated heavy equipment for many area construction companies. He used to say that he built roads all summer and plowed them all winter. For 35 years Bill was co-owner, with his wife, of The Austin Home in Webster and was in charge of all the maintenance.

He was a member of the United Church of Warner and took great pride in being active with the KAIROS prison ministry for 11 years. Bill was also a member of the Wilkins-Cloues-Bigelow-Pearson Post #39 American Legion of Warner for over 20 years.

He was pre-deceased by a son, Benjamin, and four siblings, Levona Mathews, Lee Lemelin, Herbert Fifield and Lilly Carlson.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathleen "Kitty" (Young) Fifeld of Webster, NH and 6 children, Dawn Heine, Robin Belkner, Daniel Fifield, Kathleen Ann Fifield, Michael W. Fifield and Peter Fifeld, 15 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, two sisters, Marjorie Green and Ella McIntosh, nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at The United Church of Warner on Sat., Nov 15, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Robert Wyand, officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made the Webster Fire Dept., 851 Battle St., Webster, NH 03303, the Warner Fire Dept., PO Box 265, or the United Church of Warner, PO Box 203, both Warner, NH 03278.

A lot of fond memories of summers in NH when Uncle Billy and My Mom taking us for hikes up the mountains.
