Read MoreI was a friend of Bill Fischer for more than seventy years. Bill was a good athlete in high school. He qualfied for the state track in the 100 yard dash as a seventh grader. Bill held the school record in the 100 yard dash for several years.We wrote each other the first couple years he attended Norte Dame. Bill was a true supporter of Fort Pierre.

South Dakota has lost an icon with the passing of Bill Fischer and also a community leader of Fort Pierre and central South Dakota. Bill spread his joy of life to those around him. He will be missed by many.
