Not sure what to say?

Mr. Flick was one of my favorite teaches in school. He put me in charge of the fish tank located in the library . This allowed me to skip out on most winter recesses. He was always fun and we had him as our counselor for the Groovy gofers in 6th grade camp. He will be missed .

Mr.Bill Flikkema you were one of the most influential People in my life at a time when I needed it the most. Your sternness and dedication will never be forgotten. My only regret is that I never had the chance to tell you in person. On a funny note the Vertical push ups you did at the piano [ a promise you made and kept to our class ] lol will always stay in my memory bank. GOD must have needed another angle so He called you home...Thanks for being there

I had Mr. flik as my fourth grade teacher. He was one of the best teachers I had. He was a compassionate person and cared for his students. When my father passed away in fourth grade, he was very supportive to my family. He even got me a Teddy bear, I still have. One of most treasured item from my childhood. Thank you Mr. flik for being a great person! You are missed.

I remember many greats times with Mr Flikkema. He was a great teacher and a great person in the community. He taught with my uncle Scott Haskins. I had them both in elementry. My sister and brother Todd Haskins both had them as teachers. I remember that Todd loved him as his favorite teacher. My brother passed away at a young age. So I look forward to seeing you both in heaven someday. You will be missed by many people. May god comfort your family! I will see you again someday!

I am saddened to hear of Mr Flick's passing. I still remember how excited I was when I found out he was going to be my teacher. He was such a great teacher, kind, caring, compassionate and so so much more. I will NEVER forget when we went on a field trip to John Ball and we all got to walk to his house afterwards. It seemed like we were never going to make it up that hill!! Heaven gained an amazing angel!! Rest in piece Mr Flikkema you will be missed by ALL.
Class of 1984

My friend had him for a teacher in sixth grade and I was in fifth. He treated me so nice and I use to stay after school sometimes to talk to him, so I plead with him and the principal that I wanted Mr.Flikkema for my 6th grade teacher. When I found out that I did have him for my 6th grade I was so happy. 1977/78 was one of my best year in school. I remember his favorite line was, "Why certainly". God bless you Mr.Flikkema and rest in peace

I didn't have Mr Flik but I always saw him everyday at school he always said hi to you and bye at the end of school. I loved when we study different units and got to switch rooms and have a different teacher that's when I got to go in his classroom. He always had nicknames for students one of mine was Smiley he said because I was always smiling and if I wasn't I was in deep thought or thinking hard. He love all the students even if they weren't his own in his classroom! He always wanted you...

I knew Bill Flikkema from sharing the Prince Street house during our last two years at Calvin College. Yesterday when my wife called me and asked if I knew a Bill Flikkema because she saw his name in the obituaries, I thought about those years. We shared many conversations at odd hours of the day and night. Bill was always a man of convictions and an earthy sense of humor. I liked to think that I benefited from Bill's wisdom and sense of humor, but that was all many years ago. For what...
