To his family I send my sincere condolences and love. Bill’s impact on my life was tremendous. At the Register he took me from the “wannabe” status of writer I had been since a young child to actually being a writer. He taught me the importance of in-depth research to get all the facts in order to back up my words with substance and impartiality and by doing so he made me not only a writer, but a strong writer. I was, and am so very glad to have met and worked with Bill. I have him to thank for publishing so many drawings of mine in the Staten Island Register. I have him too, to thank for introducing me to Bonnie. I did many illustrations for her knitting magazine. Thank you both for giving me the opportunity. I am so very saddened at his passing. My thoughts are with you all at this time.
