I first met Bill when we purchased a lot and very old house in South Park in Jackson Hole. We spent many hours together and since I had worked in the art field we enjoyed all of his art together. I sold his art in Trail Side Galleries and after that sold him his real estate. Always enjoyed all of the oils and later all of the pottery. I have that great moose oil painting hanging in our entry hall today. Will miss him and will always be in our prayers and forever in our memory

My husband, Don Cannon and I met Bill when we lived in Scottdale, on one of his walks. He was the nicest man you could ever meet. He took me on one of his oil painting episodes and taught me much. I still oil paint. We moved to Show Low, Az. I wanted to express my condolences to Bill's family. I was saddened to read about his passing in the newspaper ( Az. Republic) My own husband, Don, passed away this last June. Perhaps Don and Bill can reunite wherever they are. I'm sure it's a better...

Where to start------
I first met Bill when I was in my teens, and he first arrived in the Blanco Basin. I'll be 65 this year.
For me, as much as I have loved his art, I do believe the most valuable thing he left behind was the relationships he had with people. I loved watching him find great pleasure in sharing his stories, his talents and his treasures. I loved watching him nurture and share with young people.
I remember sitting around fires with him and others enjoying his...

Bill was a special person. I made acquaintance with him while hiking. Soon he invited me and my young son to his home where he began mentoring Michael and teaching him sculpture and painting techniques. Together they created a sculpture of a pistol that hangs in our home and which visitors invariably believe is a real pistol. Our relationship was brief. He left Jackson, WY for New Mexico about a year after we met, but he will always be a special friend in our memories.

I have known Bill since I was 18 and he was 38. He gave me painting lessons at his place in the Blanco Basin in Colorado. He taught me to "look" and to see how things could be as they are placed upon a canvas. I have hauled his paintings and supplies far into the ares he wished to paint and watched him as any student would do.
I watched him paint, hauled horses for him, helped build his Colorado home, visited his Scottsdale home (just a short distance from mine), saw his movement to...

To the "family of Bill Freeman. The world surely will miss the truly "renaissance" man of his times. He has been a teacher to us and friend. We will miss him.

Bill was an amazing man! I grew up next door to him on Mescal Street in Scottsdale AZ, and he had a huge impact on my life. Bill always had his door open to the neighbor hood kids. He would let us paint, work on pottery and teach us little things about the Indian culture as we would visit. He was an amazing artist and am proud to be able to say he was part of my life during my childhood. To this day the smell of paint reminds me of him.
