William Gaede Jr.

I haven't seen Bill since 1977, yet think of him often. He is one of the three most influential people in my life. He saw something in me that I could not see myself and his commitment to and mentoring of me was the foundation for everything I've accomplished since. He'll always be with me and I thank the stars for who he was and the difference he made in the lives of thousands and thousands of people. Thank you Bill.

Bill was a special friend. I met Bill through work but he extended himself by sponsoring me into the Family Club and Camp 110. His advice helped me stabilize my life and explained that family and friends come first. After I left the midwest in 1974 , I did not connect much with my father. To me , Bill was my father on the west coast. He was a man of trust, ethics, enthusiasm and most importantly doing the right thing when a decision is needed.

So sorry to hear about Bill's passing. I've known him so many years and know he was a business and civic leader. His wife Ilse was the first friend I made when I moved to SF in 1977.
