Not sure what to say?

Good man and good friend. Always missed. God speed.

Seems like only yesterday I saw your big grin Bill. Miss you very much.

My parents were good friends with Bill's parents and purchased their home beside Gardners Garage. I used to play with his toys as a little kid while he was in grade school. I was 5 years younger than him but we were friends during my teen years and I always knew where he was and used to see him when he came home to see his mother before her death. My mother 93 and my father 97 remember him well and were sad to hear of his death as was I.

Mary Ann and family: I just learned of Bill's passing after becoming concerned when he did not return a recent telephone call. I met Bill more than 20 years ago when we worked on a large business deal together, and we have stayed in touch regularly ever since. Although I've never met you, I feel as though I know you well, having listened to Bill talk about you all these years. He was obviously very proud of you. Bill was one of a kind. He was a real character, but also one of the nicest,...

We have only just heard of Bill's passing and wish to pass on our condolences to you and your family.
We had the pleasure of visiting you once in North Carolina and the memorable dinner you served us.
Bill was just a good friend and we spoke regularly about aviation matters and personalities and it was the absence of this contact that I sought more information that eventually led me to this site.
We live in Brisbane, Australia and our personal contact with Bill...

I missed the opportunity to meet this man, but clearly that was a loss for me. I know he had a great life because of his own accomplishments and because he was fortunate enough to marry Mary Ann Lamberson Gardner.

Today I was shocked and saddened to learn of Bill's passing. It seems like only yesterday that I spoke with him and was looking forward to seeing him at the next industry event. Our relationship goes back to his Piedmont days and I have never met a nicer, more warm and sincere person in all my years in the aircraft industry. He had that unique trait to make everyone feel like the oldest of friends. This is a great loss for everyone who was fortunate to call him a friend

Tonight I learned of Bill's death and am filled with a great sense of loss. I have known Bill all of my life since he started grade school at Immacculate Conception with my brother, David. They were best friends throughout life and Bill was a frequent guest in our home. I remember him as being larger than life and always fun. He was the apple of his mother's eye - she adored her "Billy". When my brother passed two years ago, I spoke with Bill and we laughed about many fond memories of...
