So sad to hear this. I had Mr. Garfinkle back in the 80s at Woodrow Wilson and his class left an indelible, unforgettable mark. His dry sense of humor - which I repeat to people to this day and of course nobody knows what the heck I´m talking about: "what´s stomata with you?" IYKYK He made learning fun. He also named the group of friends I was in as "the freckle sisters" because 4 out of 6 of us had freckles (two were honorary :). I miss Mr. G. and I miss the freckle sisters. Rest easy Mr....

I had the pleasure of working with Bill at Midtown Community School before his retirement. I always enjoyed his dry sense of humor and his delightful stories about Perry. Bill was a gentle soul and will be missed. My sincere condolences to his family. Christina Mercun

This saddens my heart. Mr. G was my fourth grade teacher in Woodrow Wilson. He was so good to all of us kids. My dad used to go on field trips with us and just loved him. God rest his soul. The Costa Family
