I was one of the PREP players who was fortunate enough to play for Coach Cochrane,Zucconi and the beloved Billy Garg. I was a lineman and kicker and I'll never forget the two step v stutter step approach conversations coach Zuc and Garg debated as I a bewildered 15 year old looked on in awe between attempts to kick the ball into the pool at Old Colony Field. Bill was a great coach. I became a teacher, coach and eventually a high school principal in part because of his influence. Rest in peace, coach, and thank you for helping make me the man I became.

Bill was a joy to have as a coach. He could motivate the most laid back of us and always do so with a smile. I have thought of him often over the decades since St. Peter's and count him as a major shaping force in my life and probably in the lives of many others. He leaves much behind to mark his passage through this temporary space of life. Many of us can only wish to have led such a fulfilling life with so much positive left behind.
